PSSI has officially decided to cancel the 2022-2023 Indonesian Cup event because it has not yet received a sponsor.

This was stated directly by the chairman of PSSI, Mochamad Iriawan when met at the Si Starling Harupat Stadium, Soreang, Bandung, West Java, Sunday (28/8/2022).

Mochamad Iriawan said that the 2022/2023 Indonesia Cup which had to be canceled was due to sponsorship issues.

As is known, the last time the Indonesian Cup was held was in 2019. At that time, PSM Makassar came out as champion after defeating Persija in the final round.

“It looks like it’s most likely not, because of the time, the tight schedule. Most importantly sponsors. Maybe next year, God willing, it will probably not be fixed,” said Iwan Bule.

Initially, the 2022/2023 Indonesian Cup was planned to be held from August 2022 to March 2023 and would be attended by 18 Liga 1 teams, 28 Liga 2 teams, and 18 Liga 3 teams.

However, due to sponsorship issues, PSSI officially canceled the 2022-2023 Indonesian Cup
